Chris is an artist, architect and teacher. His art projects over the last 25 years have ranged from; painting, sculpture, video installations and mixed media on the themes of boundaries and divisions and in the last 12 years has been practising printmaking and artists books. At the heart of this preoccupation is the obsessive activity of drawing as visual diary-largely inspired by dreams/nightmares, which in turn informs the transformational qualities of printmaking. More... He uses collagraphy, linocut, woodcuts, lithography, intaglio and relief methods and drypoint techniques to explore these narratives.
He has exhibited in Cyprus, France and London. He quotes, ‘I’m interested in the moments when a print begins to become something else .... My recent explorations have used cornflakes packets and masking tape as plates and combining the 3-D book format to print images. I’m drawn to the off-cuts of plates, the kind of left- over’s when the process is done.’
